I love to host people. I love cooking, plating dishes and all the trimmings. Brunches, lunches, dinners… I usually do some research online, look for new recipes, and then spend hours on Pinterest to find creative ways to dress my table. The only issue is when I have to host guests on special occasions, birthdays and year end celebrations. I get overwhelmed with a host of dilemmas in terms of fashion.
“What am I going to wear? Dress or pants, jacket or sweater, skirt or midi… And when it’s cold, everything gets even more complicated… I often say to myself a pair of opaque tights will do… but with a cocktail dress, it can’t get uglier than that… And here is the million dollar question: what do you wear when you’re the hostess, having to prepare dinner for 15 people, be the waitress and stay fresh as a flower? So on the occasion of a dinner in my apartment last week, I invite you to discover my outfit of the day, very simple and minimalist… just the way I like it.
I like minimalist and sleek styles. This dress, designed by Mirlande Germain, perfectly illustrates my latest moods: simple and effective. With the busy schedule ahead of me, the best thing was to find the perfect outfit to manage the business. This style of dress gives a stylish and chic silhouette wether you’re tall or short. Just need to play with colors, in this case I went with dark but red or a total white look – which remains the ultimate in class but, I grant you, is not very convenient to be on the cooking on the stove – can also be very nice to wear.
In terms of hair and makeup, nothing extraordinary. I played it safe. I’m wearing a ultra natural nude makeup. If you’re interested, I might be able to post on the subject. For my hair, a simple wash & go.
